10 things

taking pictures is not my strong point. i once got a digital camera for my birthday and lost the charger for about a year. i didn't really notice. however, not too long ago i got a new charger and started taking pictures again. i'll never be as good to be part of that self-taught-up-and-coming wave of new photographers but i like to take pictures regardless. as of late, i've taken to snapping shots of objects i find on or near my desk (home and at work). i've complied some images which i will justify as "the top thing things that get me through the day". tttttgmttd. photoshop, of course, does wonders too. it's like plastic surgery.

1. urban decay eye potion
this stuff is magical...especially if you have greasy eyelids! you swipe this on before putting on your eyeshadow, and your make-up won't budge for at least a good 6 hours (longer if its cooler weather, even longer if you don't have greasy eyelids!). i work long hours so this stuff is the best!

2. Cocktail Rings
Some say shoes make an outfit (and they do) but i prefer cocktail rings. it gives a shot of color to any drab outfit. i'm known to lose rings so i try to be super careful with the ones i have now. so far i've collected jade, amethyst, ivory, and a few others. i'm currently looking for my victorian brooch ring that doubles as a watch :(

3. Blackberry Curve
once you get a phone like this, there aren't any other options. i'm able to respond to clients immediately, browse the internet when i'm bored, keep in contact with my business partner, look up directions when i'm lost, sync my calendar...blah blah blah. it's endless! i can also listen to mp3s and take pics, thanks to my nifty micro sd card.

4. Caffeine

I won't say i'm addicted to coffee because I don't have withdrawal symptoms. it's definitely a pick me up when I have a cup of green tea or coffee. as a treat, i like soy mistos from starbucks (ssssh) but my daily grind is peaberry's from trader joe's. add some soymilk creamer and you got yourself a shocktail! a plus is that these cans are really cute and you can use them as a trashcan, utensil holder, a vase, etc. be green!

5. A big purse

i've been fortunate enough to know people who selflessly give me their brand name castoffs. this is my purse wall at home and i'm almost embarassed to say i've got a few more in the closet! i like big bulky satchels that can hold everything i need because you never know what's going to happen!

6. A sweater

layering is essential in california. the afternoons might be hot, but by evening it's freezing cold. i can never have too many back up cardigans (or shoes) in my car, in case i need to switch up an outfit.

7. Claritin

i'm a florist...but during certain seasons i'm highly allergic to flowers. my allergy symptoms are manifested through my skin. i won't go into disgusting detail but...it's gross. i pop a claritin and i feel better. sometimes it makes me sleepy, but that's what makes it fun.

8. dry skin cream

after abusing my hands all day (washing and rewashing and touching flower gunk) my remedy is to dunk my hands in a big vat of aquaphor and sleep with my hands out of my blanket. they use this stuff for diaper rash but it works wonders on dry, withered hands. for daytime, i use l'occitane dry skin hand cream. i think i've gone through 1 tube in 1 month...so you figure $25 x 12 = a pretty nice shopping spree at forever 21. i guess it's worth it though because it doesn't make my hands look like an old lady's. no offense to the old ladies.

9. magazines

i love magazines for the very fact that you get new material every month. the ones i read are usually wedding or decor related and i'm constantly updated with the newest trends. i also find entrepreneur inspiring and you can't hate on US Weekly. i actually liked how these pics turned out but i screwed it up in photoshop. :S

10. People

i actually have no pictures of the people i am to speak of because i am not at that part of my own tutorial yet. i used to work alone and would spend my days talking to myself or daydreaming. i think i once went 10 hours without talking to anyone. now i appreciate having 'real' people to talk to, to make my day go by quicker. i've got entertainment provided by kendra, pep talks administered by my brother, and attention given by my boyfriend. :)

what are tttttgyttd?

:)

you forgot your life-size cutouts of your desk accessories (stapler, ruler, hole puncher)! Those are worth featuring!!!
