a new love

i love middle eastern food. my favorite used to be Carousel Restaurant out in glendale. It's still a really good place (and fun if you want to see some belly dancing action). Recently i decided to check out a place suggested by my cousin David. We yelp everything...well, we don't post reviews but we just use ppl for their good and bad experiences!

Anyway, David suggested we try Elena's in glendale. With 4.5 stars on yelp, hell yeah!

Here's a disection of my dinner:

*lulu kebab, chicken kabab (so tender), rice, and roasted tomato and pepper

David got pork chops...they were juicy chops!

And Josh got a combo of the lulu kebab and lamb:
*his tomatoes were on my plate...but he got them

I think it's funny that you see these same dishes at restaurants like Sam Woo.

You get a choice of salad or lentil soup with your meal - we all chose the soup:

You also get freshly grilled pita bread, garlic sauce, and pickled vegetables at the start of your meal. The veggies were a mix of celery, cabbage, tomatoes, and cilantro. It was tasty and MUCH better than those hot pink pickled beets at zankous (don't get me wrong, i love zankous too!).

In addition to REALLY good food, the price here is AMAZING. It's the best deal, the best food, and you got the best people serving and cooking for you. The women waiting on us, which I assume one of them had to be Elena, were so nice. They watched out for us and made sure we got everything. It felt like we were eating at someone's house...which i think this location once was.

for your sake, i'd love you to try it. for my own sake, i don't want to share this place!
